Play Boy 2 Movie Is Ridiculous
05.03.2009 LISTEN

A scene from Play Boy2 A star-studded movie titled PlayBoy2, produced and marketed worldwide by Venus Film Productions, could have been better if enough work was done on it before releasing it onto the market.

Though this movie is good with regard to the caliber of actors and actresses in it and the good setting, one of the scenes in it is rather a silly blunder to have come out of such a high-profile movie directed by Director Frank Raja.

First of all, the movie is about Jessy (Majid Michel), the hottest guy in town, yet very promiscuous and very good at lying.

He has all the cute and rich ladies around, and plays and rolls them like dice in a gambling game.

Jessy proposes to Wendy (Yvonne Nelson) and Natasha (Jackie Appiah), who are always at each other's throats to win Jessy's love.

They were, however, not aware that they were competing with three other ladies: Sidi (Nadia), Julia (Pasculine Edward) and a 'sugar mommy,' Hajia (Doris Sackitey).

A scene in the movie did not only subject Ghanaian movies to ridicule but also created the impression that Ghana is a lawless country.

In that scene, Wendy and Natasha engaged in an exchange of words in a shopping mall. In her bid to scare Natasha off, Wendy pulled out a gun in the full glare of all attendants of the mall.

Amazingly, none of the mall attendants called in the police neither did they show any sign to the effect that they were scared of the gun. Rather, they stood in the full glare of the cameras and folded their arms watching what was going on between the two rivals and their cronies. It is not natural.

Indeed, that was a sloppy scene and it creates a bad image for an industry that is trying to revive itself.

This movie also featured stars like Kofi Adjorlolo, Nana Ama MacBrown, Nii Odoi Mensah, president of Ghana's Actors Guild among others.
